In recent years Carl Zeiss Jena lenses have become extremely sought after especially for videographers and filmmakers for their abilities to recreate a vintage look with beautiful rendering and good image quality.
The Flektogon 25mm f4 is part of a series of wide angle lenses produced by Carl Zeiss Jena, this 25mm being considered the very first "super wide" lens for film cameras in 1961. While it may not be the best wide angle lens technically, it makes up for it by a beautiful vintage look and a very close minimum focus distance of only 16cm, allowing for dramatic images. A real collector lens with lots of character.
