Introduced in 1982, the FG is Nikon's answer to Canon's AE1 Program camera. It's a very capable camera oriented for beginners and enthusiasts alike, with a compact and extremely well-built body, sleek looks with curved body edges, and a useful data back LCD which indicates the frame count, frame numbering and offers time and date stamping on the film.
Maximum shutter speed is 1/1000s and the camera has three control modes :
-Program mode (the camera selects aperture and shutter based based on current light parameters),
-Aperture-priority (the camera selects the shutter speed based on the user's aperture setting),
- Manual mode where the user can select shutter and aperture values.
Ai, Ai-S as well as autofocus lenses will work on this body (autofocus lenses will work in manual mode).
Careful: The light meter indicator in the viewfinder is dim (but works)
