Description

The Mamiya 645 series is a highly regarded system of medium format cameras produced between 1975 and the 1990s. The645AF was the first model with autofocus capabilities, featuring manual override and interchangeable lenses/backs. It uses 120/220 film to produce 16 shots per roll. It is known for its durable aluminum body, bright viewfinder, and compatibility with high-quality, sharp AF lenses.

Key Features and Details:
System Capabilities: The 645AF, along with the later 645AFD, 645AFDII, and 645AFDIII, supports both film and digital backs, allowing for versatile, quick changes.
  • Performance: Features multiple exposure modes (manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, program). The 645AFD offers a high maximum shutter speed of 1/4000th of a second.
  • Lens Ecosystem: Uses specialized AF lenses, with the 80mm f/2.8 being a common, high-quality standard lens.
  • Suitability: Often used for fashion and editorial photography due to its speed and ease of use, making it a "workhorse" for professionals.
