A sister company of DZOFILM, Thypoch builds on a decade of industrial optical expertise and precision craftsmanship to create mirrorless lenses that blend character and high resolution for today's sensors.

The Simera-C full-frame lenses, ranging from 16, 21mm, 28mm, 35mm, 50mm to 75mm can handle most kinds of shooting situations.  Equipped with a 16-blade iris and fast aperture, these lenses effortlessly produce unparalleled spatial visual impact, enhancing the immersive quality of the imagery. The 16mm is the latest release in the set.

Over the past few years, cinema cameras have become remarkably smaller, driving the demand for compact, high-performance cine lenses. The Simera-C responds to this need by blending the design legacy of classic rangefinder lenses with DZOFILM’s cinema DNA and cutting-edge optical technology. This fusion achieves a perfect balance between the precision of still photography and the cinematic quality of motion picture imagery within an incredibly compact form.

• Neutral look with a vintage organic texture
• Fast T1.9 aperture, excels in low light environment
• Smooth rounded bokeh with controlled flaring
• Rich details, nuanced shadows, pleasing visual esthetics and subtle contrast effects
• Matching focus throw positioning
• High sharpness in a small form factor thanks to aspherical, ED and high-refractive-index lens elements.

Immersive Vision with Expansive Ultra-wide Perspective

With a dramatic 106° field of view, the Simera-C 16mm captures expansive spatial depth and environmental detail, creating an immersive visual perspective for cinematic storytelling, making it particularly suited for architectural cinematography, landscape sequences, documentary work, and dynamic action scenes.

Despite its expansive perspective, the lens maintains a remarkably fast constant T1.9 aperture. This combination enables filmmakers to work confidently in low-light environments while preserving cinematic subject separation and depth.

Precision Optical Design for High-resolution Imaging

The Simera-C 16mm features an advanced optical structure composed of 15 elements in 11 groups, engineered to deliver exceptional sharpness and consistency across the frame. With a center resolution up to 85 lp/mm, the lens is optimized for the demands of today’s high-resolution imaging systems like A7RV, LeicaM11, Sony Venice ii 6K, Alexa LF, Red V-Raptor 8K, etc.

Careful correction of distortion and chromatic aberration ensures clean rendering and natural image fidelity, even when shooting wide open at T1.9. The result is a sharp yet organic cinematic texture that retains the warmth and character of the Simera-C series.

Near-Zero Focus Breathing for Seamless Cinematic Movement

Designed specifically for professional motion imaging, the Simera-C 16mm exhibits virtually near-zero focus breathing. Focus transitions remain visually stable during pulls, enabling smoother and more immersive storytelling without distracting changes in framing.

A close focusing distance of just 0.16m further expands creative flexibility, allowing filmmakers to create striking compositions with exaggerated spatial depth and immersive foreground detail.

Ultra-compact Size for Modern Production Workflows

Continuing the Simera-C philosophy of lightweight cinema design, the 16mm condenses its optical performance into a compact body measuring approximately 70 mm in length. The lens weighs only 467g in M mount and 490g in E mount, making it exceptionally versatile for mobile productions. Its lightweight construction integrates naturally with gimbals, drones, handheld rigs, and modular systems such as the DJI Ronin 4D.

Completing the Simera-C Ecosystem

As the latest focal length in the growing Simera-C family, the 16mm expands the system’s storytelling capabilities while preserving the series’ signature visual language professional cinema mechanics, and refined optical rendering that filmmakers rely on.
