The super-compact and ultra-lightweight PENTAX Q10, barely larger than a deck of cards, offers digital-SLR-quality photography for photographers of all levels. Based on the successful Pentax Q, the Q10 is the smallest and lightest digital interchangeable-lens camera and features a 12MP 1 2/3 CMOS image sensor, high ISO sensitivity of 6400 for successful low-light photography, FullHD 1920x1080 30 fps video, multiple exposure modes, 1/2000th shutter speed and anti-shake reduction, in-body RAW images, and a built-in pop-up flash.
The Q10 range includes a total of 8 different lenses, starting with three super-bright zooms : a standard 5-15mm f2.8-4.5 (27-83mm equivalent), a telephoto 15-45mm f2.8 (83-249mm) and a wide 3.8-5.9mm (21-32.5mm), as well as a 47mm eq. prime, a 17mm eq. fisheye and a couple of fun toy lenses. This particular camera comes with the standard 5-15mm f2.8-4.5 (27-83mm equivalent) zoom and the telephoto 15-45mm f2.8 (83-249mm) zoom.
In addition, the new Q10 includes the bokeh control function to create a defocused effect typical of an SLR camera, and the Smart Effect modes to apply various built-in filters with a simple turn of the dial – allowing photographers to easily express their creativity.
Compared to the original Q, the Q10 features a new sensor and an upgraded algorithm to provide users with improved AF performance, higher quality images. While its overall exterior design closely resembles the PENTAX Q, the PENTAX Q10 provides several upgrades in its body design, such as an improved grip for a more stable hold of the camera and attractive color options.
