The Canon F1 was launched in 1971 as a competitor to Nikon's F1 and F2 models, and was Canon's first successful professional-grade SLR system, supporting a huge variety of accessories (viewfinder, focusing screen, data back...) so it could be adapted for different uses and preferences.
In 1981, Canon released a new version of this camera, now usually called the "NEW F1" (this version).
The F1 is a fully manual camera with an extremely well built body, high shutter speed (1/2000), high ISO capability (ASA 2000) ideal for photographers looking for a professional-grade camera sure to last for long. This particular model has the upgraded "AE" finder which provides Aperture priority functionality.
