The Nikon F3 was Nikon's third professional SLR body, preceded by the F and the F2. Introduced in 1980, it had manual aperture priority modes, and featured a plethora of accessories, including removable viewfinders (the camera can be shot from the top screen, or from the viewfinder). It was the first of numerous Nikon F-series cameras to be styled by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and to include a red stripe on the handgrip – a feature that would later become (with variants of stripes and various other shapes) a signature feature of many Nikon cameras.
It was the first Nikon camera to include an LCD screen in the viewfinder, and featured 1/2000th shutter speed, aperture priority and full manual modes, and an amazing built quality. It remained in production (with several variants) until 2001.
This is the HP version (High Eyepoint) with an improved, slightly larger viewfinder particulraly useful if you wear glasses and need to shoot with your eyes further away from the viewfinder.
