This lens is part of the "NewFD" or "nFD" line of lenses from Canon, a series of light compact lenses launched after the successful SSC series. They were produced for analog cameras and can be adapted to multiple modern DSLRs and mirrorless bodies (see below). They use the same FD mount as the earlier SSC versions.
