The AE1 Program is situated between the AE1 and the A1 in Canon's camera hierarchy. It inherits the sturdy body and basic functionalities of the AE1, and adds the Program mode inherited from the professional A1. In Program mode, the camera chooses the shutter speed and aperture automatically, allowing users more flexibility to focus on composition.
