Voigtlander was launched in 1756 in Germany and is one of the oldest companies within the optics and photography industry. They specialize in precision manual focus lenses for mirrorless cameras with outstanding image and built quality.
Medium telephoto combines high performance and compactness
In addition to the high image quality created by the apochromatic design that reduces axial chromatic aberration as close to zero as possible, the simple structure that extends the entire lens realizes a compact total length of about 40 mm (from the mount surface). The weight of the main lens is only 260g, and its size and weight are almost the same as the ULTRON 40mm F2 Aspherical SLII.s standard lens, making it highly portable.
Apochromatic design
It adopts an apochromatic design that reduces the axial chromatic aberration of RGB, which constitutes the three primary colors of light, as close to zero as possible.
High Performance & Compact
The newly designed optical system uses abnormally dispersion glass for 5 of the 7 elements in 7 groups. Despite its high performance, the lens is compact with a total length of 40mm (from the mount surface).
Design with nostalgia and functionality
The focus and aperture rings are made of all-metal, and the heavily machined finger scales and precision-milled knurled pattern are not only nostalgic and beautiful, but also provide functionality that enhances the manual feel.
Manual focus for secure focus operation
The all-metal helicoid unit, which has been machined and adjusted with high precision, and high-quality grease that produces moderate torque, realize smooth focusing sensation. Enables subtle focus adjustments.
Choice of appearance variations
As a tribute to the SLR interchangeable lenses of the Showa 40s (1965~1974), we have prepared two types of rims: silver rims, which are nicknamed Sakijiro, among collectors, and black rims called Sakiguro.
Shooting with a wide variety of bodies
The mount is compatible with Nikon Ai-S with built-in CPU, and in addition to the built-in CPU, it also has an Ai coupler. This makes it possible to use a wide variety of bodies, from the film SLRs of yesteryear to the latest DSLRs.
